Q. What brought you to art or what brought art to you?
A. Inherent, ingrained from parent, free thought is attractive, and a way of life.
Q. What was your first art experience that you can remember?
A. I made a foam core breakfast setting, complete with plate of eggs bacon and toast, knife fork and place mat, when I was 6 My folks still have it in the kitchen. I made it at our neighbors house who is a great artist named Ann Dunbar, she had art classes for kids in her studio.
Q. What influences your art?
A. heart vs. mind, life vs. dream, regression vs. progression, curiosity vs. nostalgia, nothing vs. everything
Q. Where did you grow up/how has that location impacted your work?
A. I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Its a place unlike any other, a darwinian island, in a ocean of sand. The place enforces a connectivity to the earth. Kids grow up playing in huge empty desert expanses, with mountains keeping watch over all of it. I think it is simply just a part of me, and informs how I see the world. Its a place that reassures me, that organically conceived notions can develop, and sustain themselves with very little. Just like the dirt, the weeds, and the lizards of New Mexico.
Q. Is art learned or are you born with the talent. What does it take to be successful in the arts?
A.I think its in everybody, given the right opportunity, and surroundings, they
can flourish. as for what it takes to be successful, I haven't really figured out what success is in art, other than getting an idea out there.

6. Do/Did your parents support the idea of you being an artist?
yes I think they knew before I did, there are only a couple of things available fora dyslexic, AdHd, maniacs. luckily art has been taking some of them in
for centuries.
7. What are your hobbies?
Name it, I'll do it, or want to
8. What would you do with a million dollars?
pay rent, and maybe get a saws-all.
9. Do politics belong in art?
yes, and no, art belongs to time, politics are a part of time. So in an era, where
the infrastructure of our american culture, and governance, is being crumbled, by
the likes of bush&co, that has to effect a large amount of the art.
10. What artists do you like/collect? Please list your top 5
I like all of them, with exception to artists who make art about art, garbage.
